errant apostrophes

I know everyone is really into correcting grammar and spelling these days on Facebook statuses and whatnot. While it does bug the hell out of me, I try not to be too obnoxious about these things. I have, however, noticed a trend in incorrect apostrophe use.

It seems that more often than not, people feel like they need to use apostrophes when the word they want to make plural ends in a vowel.

Today I've noticed:
Margarita's
Oreo's
Cookie's
Opera's

And that's just today.

  1. Did you hear about the guys that went around correcting punctuation on signs around the country?

And also you should look into SPOGG. Google it ;)
