Look what I got!

For this post, I’m going to start out by bragging about the fabulous stuff that I’ve acquired lately (mostly today). First we have the Yogi Tea that I got after requesting a sample from the Yogi Tea peeps. They were very nice and sent over 3 bags of different varieties (Green Tea Super Anti-Oxidant, Himalayan Apple Spice, and Berry Detox) and a coupon for 50 cents off a box. Yay! Thanks Yogi Tea!

I’m going to try the Himalayan Apple Spice in the morning with a lemon poppy seed scone that I made today using a mix from Sticky Fingers Bakeries. I had one today and it was delicious. I’m going to have to figure out which mix to try next, but it’s looking like it is going to be the tart cherry. Mmmmm.

I wanted some cream soda (my weakness) so I found a variety that is sold by the bottle at my store. It’s called Sprecher. I also got a root beer from the same brand so that the husband can have something, too. The Sprecher Brewing Company makes beer as well!

I also decided to buy myself some flowers today. I’m not entirely sure what these are called. The sticker on the plastic around them said they were Oxford, but I can’t find anything called an Oxford Gerbera Daisy online. But I did find some that are called Princeton and look exactly the same. Maybe someone got confused? ;)

I took a trip down the pasta aisle and found the most fabulous “couture” pasta. They have some fancy kinds and some really fun kinds that are all kinds of colorful. Those were kind of expensive (around $9 a box) so I decided on some equally as fun and colorful pasta made by Eddie’s Spaghetti. Vegetable corkscrews! They’re so colorful. I’m not sure what to make with them yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was also thinking of getting some of that Rachel’s Exotic Yogurt. But I’m not a huge fan of yogurt at all so I chickened out and left without any. They also make a line called Essence Yogurt and some cottage cheese. I will never try cottage cheese, so we’re not even going to go there. Has anyone tried the yogurt? I’m sure if you like yogurt it’s really good, but I don’t like it so much. Maybe someone can suggest a good flavor to try for my first time, though.

Speaking of yogurt, I picked up some Fage 0% to make some homemade tzatziki sauce. Did I spell that right? Anyways, I made it for the first time with the help of Marion, Kate, and Kyra. Thanks ladies! It tastes yummy and we’ll be eating it on our fake chicken gyros tonight, along with a Greek salad.

For breakfast I had a veggie scramble with egg whites, tomatoes and spinach all wrapped up with some Athenos reduced fat feta in a Droubi’s pita (they sell them at HEB). I haven’t tried the restaurant yet, but it’s on my list. I also had a banana, but it didn’t make it into the picture. Also, it looks like there's no spinach in it. That's because I ate most of the spinach before I decided I wanted to eat it on a pita!

For lunch I threw together what I call our “wedding salad”. It’s basically a re-creation of the salad they served at our wedding. I used 1 cup of fresh spinach, 1 Tbsp each of Craisins, Athenos reduced fat feta cheese, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle on 2 Tbsp of Newman’s Own Lighten Up! Raspberry & Walnut dressing. So delicious.

OH! Yesterday, our poor pup Kosmo got his tail slammed in the back door. Owie! The vet today said he’s okay though and that he’s super healthy and a great dog. Yay Kosmo! He got himself a little Easter themed Loofa Dog toy. Miraculously it hasn’t been ripped to shreds yet and the squeakers inside are still intact. By the way, if you want one, PetSmart has them on clearance for less than $3. Here’s pic of my strong boy playing with his new toy.

Okay then, I’m about done. Have a great weekend everyone!

I've had that pasta and it's great! I like to sautee shrimp in garlic/butter with peppers and onions. Add in 1 can of crushed tomatoes. Simmer. Season with black pepper. Serve over that pasta.

I love your bfast idea! I gotta try it. And that salad is nearly my fav, if you sub goat cheese for feta!!

What pretty flowers! Gerbera daisies are my favorite. I don't think I've ever seen them in those colors though!
