I've been working on this gathered clutch (tutorial from Noodlehead) for a couple of days. It wouldn't have taken me two days if I hadn't broken my needle though. I couldn't get a new one until today.
I'm not entirely pleased with this. The tutorial was for the most part straightforward, but there were a few moments where I was a little confused. I think that was just me being a novice at all this though. I want to make another one, so I'm sure the next one will go by much smoother. All in all, I'm impressed that I was able to make something like this, but I can see all the flaws in it so it's bugging me a little. I'm way too type A for tiny flaws!
By the way, this is a very economical gift idea. I purchased 3 different (coordinating) fabrics. The tutorial calls for a 1/4 yard each and I have enough left over to make another one! I got my fabric on sale at Hobby Lobby for $1.04 for each cut, so the fabric only cost me $3.12. And the zipper was about $2. I had some interfacing already, but that's always pretty cheap too. SO yeah, this thing was like $5. Pretty neat for a customizable fashion statement. :)

It's about 8"x5" maybe, so too small for diapers, but it could be easily adapted to fit some. Great idea! Maybe I'll see if I can make a bigger matching one just for that purpose. :)
